At 3.30pm we will meet at Lake Pavilion which is just below the Waterfront/Lilies restaurant, opposite the small wooden jetty. (as described in the website with map etc). Here’s a link to the site: March 6th - 13th Wangi Wangi Camp – Kayaking, Walking & Camping. Family Activity ![]() A weeks long camp at Wangi Point Lakeside Holiday Park. See www.lakemacholidayparks.com.au for more info and or bookings. This is our 3rd visit to Lake Macquarie and there is still a lot of the lake that we haven’t paddled and seen, Ron is also taking Lizzy 3 his head turning sailing boat for some easy cruising around. It’s also great place camp, walk, relax and has been bought forward this year to include more swimming with the warmer waters of March. Ron, Liz and I have booked the same waterfront sites again so join us for the whole week or a few days. At just 1 hours drive north of Hornsby, it’s worth coming up even for a day trip. Leader; Morrie Grade; Easy Walking to Medium Paddling. March/April 31-1 Ten Mile Hollow – Dharug NP 2 Day Walk This is an easy to medium overnight pack walk to Ten Mile Hollow, which is located on The Great North Road. The walk follows a management road through beautiful bush-land and convict ruins, including Clares Bridge, constructed by convicts in 1830, before arriving at the campsite. The facilities at the grassy campsite are a pit toilet, water tank and fire circles. The return journey passes many other interesting features and historical sites, including sandstone overhangs, homestead ruins and cemetery. Leader: Geoff Grade: Easy/Medium
April 14th 15th Griffins Farm – Easy Weekend Pack Walk. Family Friendly ![]() Griffins Farm is situated in Morton National Park near Moss Vale. A disused farm from years gone by, now, just a great easy walk to a spacious camp site. The walk itself is steeped in history as we descend 500m over about 5 km down through some really nice forrest to Yarrunga Ck and our campsite. Once there we will set up camp and can then explore or relax. This is a great walk to give full pack walking a tryout or be your comeback walk and is step up from the Whalanina Heights walk done last October. Leader; Morrie Grade; Easy Map; Bundanoon June 9-11 Corang Peak Circuit – Morton NP 3 Day Walk This circuit walk in the south-western corner of the Morton NP starts with a short drive from Nerriga – the home of great hamburgers! From the Wog Wog park entrance, the track passes through undulating forested areas, before ascending onto a rocky plateau. An optional ascent of Corang Peak is rewarded with panoramic views of The Castle, Mount Owen, Dujon Mountain and many more notable peaks. The track takes a slight detour past Corang Arch, before descending a conglomerate slope to the campsite at Burrumbeet Brook. An overgrown track follows Canowie Brook to the cascades at the junction with Corang River. A bit of rock scrambling joins a track beside the Corang River to a campsite near a beautiful lagoon. The walk continues south-west to rejoin the track back to the start. Leader: Geoff Grade: Medium August 4th Faulconbridge Point Lookout - Full Moon Evening Dinner & Walk. Family Activity ![]() A late afternoon, early evening walk with the 94% full moon. It’s a 6. 4km walk to Faulconbridge Point Lookout where we’ll arrive around 5. 00 pm for a clifftop al fresco sunset dining experience overlooking the Grose Gorge. We’ll get a little fire going to make tea, etc so bring your best bushwalking tucker, a camera, your thermals and a good torch for the return walk to the cars in case of cloud cover. Leader; Morrie Grade; Easy, with care needed around cliffs. Maps; Springwood - Kurrajong September 1-2 Wollangambe Crater – Wollemi NP 2 Day Walk This is a favourite trip from the past. Starting at Bell, the track takes us through the unique landscape of the Wollemi NP, with its sculptured rock pagodas, to a beautiful campsite by the Wollanganbe River. The track is usually re-traced to Bell however there is an option to continue on to Mt. Wilson. This would involve some trackless navigation and a car shuffle to Bell. This option would be discussed with those who are interested in the original walk. Leader: Geoff Grade: Medium
